## Salvation Came at a Cost

October 6th, 2026

The Passover meal reminded Israel that their rescue came through sacrifice. The lamb was sacrificed, the bread reminded them of affliction, and the meal told the story of a costly rescue. Jesus takes this story and places Himself at the center of it. He becomes the One who bears our affliction and gives His body for our freedom. Communion reminds us that our salvation was not cheap—it was purchased through the sacrificial love of Jesus.

### God Is Working for Good

Romans 8:28 reminds us that God is able to work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. This doesn’t mean everything that happens to us is good. Some things are painful, broken, and deeply unfair. But God is not finished with our stories. He can take what is difficult and work through it toward His greater purpose—ultimately conforming us to the image of Jesus.

### The God Who Fights for You First

Before you ever thought to seek God, He was fighting for you. While you were still a sinner—indifferent, rebellious, lost—Christ died for you. This is the stunning reality: you don't earn God's love through perfect faith or unwavering trust. He loved you first, completely, sacrificially. The Creator of 200 billion galaxies knows your name and counts your tears. The One who orchestrates ecosystems and ocean currents orchestrated your redemption. When faith feels impossible, remember you're not sustaining this relationship alone. Jesus holds you secure. Your job isn't to be a perfect follower but to respond to the perfect love already poured out. Will you fight for the relationship He already died to secure? Let His love compel you forward today.

### Trusting When You Don't Understand

Our world is broken. Sin's wages are death, but God's gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ. This is the big picture: Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration. At the cross, we see both God's justice against sin and His mercy toward sinners—mysteries that our finite minds cannot fully reconcile. You may encounter passages that confuse or frustrate you. You might not understand every detail of God's ways or your own experiences. But you can trust the God who loved you enough to die for you. Progressive revelation means God unfolds His truth over time, with Jesus as the ultimate clarity. Today, surrender your need to understand everything. Instead, fix your eyes on the cross—where God's character is most clearly displayed.

### The Cross Proves Love

The cross is God's ultimate answer to our doubts about His love. When we question whether God truly cares, we must return to Calvary. Jesus didn't suffer because the Father was absent or powerless, but because love required sacrifice for our redemption. God said

### From Death to Life

Death entered the world through sin, fracturing humanity’s relationship with God and unraveling creation itself. What we experience today—broken relationships, anxiety, injustice, and despair—is evidence of that rupture. Creation groans, and so do we. But God did not abandon His world. Even in Genesis 3, He was already moving toward redemption. Romans 8 reminds us that groaning is not the end of the story—it’s the labor before restoration. Your struggles are not signs of God’s absence; they are reminders that this world is not yet what it will be. The ache you feel points you toward hope. God is restoring what sin has broken, and the promise of new life is already unfolding.

### Crushed for Our Sins

Isaiah 53:2-6 (NLT)2 My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot,
like a root in dry ground.
There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance,
nothing to attract us to him.
3 He was despised and rejected—
a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief.
We turned our backs on him and looked the other way.
He was despised, and we did not care.4 Ye...

### The Cross Brings Clarity to God’s Restoration Plan

Since Sunday is the day most churches gather for worship, we like to be purposed at the Tree Church Daily to take the time to prepare our hearts for what God wants to do through corporate worship. We believe the Spirit meets with us daily, yet something unique happens when we gather to worship together. We want to be attentive to what the Spirit is doing in these moments, because when the Spirit s...
