Jesus Came to Testify to the Truth

July 30th, 2026by Tree Church Everyday
Jesus Came to Testify to the Truth

Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: John 14:6

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.

Jesus did not come simply to teach good principles or model a better lifestyle. He came to testify to the truth—meaning He came to show us what is actually real. In a world drowning in competing voices, manipulated images, and manufactured narratives, Jesus stands as the fixed point.

He is not one perspective among many. He is the source from which all truth originates. This is not a claim that demands blind faith—it is a claim that has been tested by history, preserved in Scripture, and confirmed in the lives of millions who have encountered Him. Truth is not created. It is found in a Person.

Have you settled in your heart that Jesus is not merely a guide but the source of truth itself? What would change in your daily life if you truly believed that?

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

  1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
  2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Jesus, thank You for revealing the truth about God, about life, and about who I am. Help me trust You above every competing voice in this world. Teach me to build my life upon Your words and to follow You with confidence, knowing that You alone are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
  3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

Faith Steps:

  1. Slowly read John 14:1-14 today and write down one truth Jesus reveals about Himself.
  2. When faced with uncertainty this week, intentionally ask, “What does Jesus say about this?” before seeking other opinions.
