Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.

Reading: **Ephesians 5:21; Philippians 2:3-8**

Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
**
Christ's model of submission wasn't passive—it was powerfully active love. He chose to serve, to put others first, to consider their needs above His own comfort. This is the heart of mutual submission in the church. When we approach relationships asking "How can I serve?" instead of "What can I get?" we reflect Jesus. This isn't about being a doormat; it's about having the security in Christ to prioritize others. In a culture obsessed with rights and preferences, kingdom citizens surrender their rights for the sake of unity and love. Today, look for one person whose needs you can prioritize over your preferences. Whether in your family, workplace, or church, practice the strength of surrender by serving without expecting anything in return.**

**Who in your life needs you to set aside your preferences to meet their needs?**

Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…

1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: **“Jesus, You humbled Yourself to serve others. Shape my heart to reflect Yours. Help me value people above my preferences and love others with genuine humility.”**
3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.

**Faith Steps:**

1. Intentionally serve one person today by putting their needs above your comfort or preference.
2. In a conversation or situation where you’d normally push your own way, choose humility and prioritize unity instead.
