Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Matthew 2:9–10, Hebrews 11:8–10
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
The Magi didn’t just observe the star—they moved toward it. Faith is never passive; it requires obedience. Leaving home, comfort, and certainty, they journeyed hundreds of miles to find Jesus. Like Abraham, they stepped forward without knowing all the details. Faith often begins with movement before clarity. God may be asking you to take a step—toward forgiveness, surrender, generosity, or trust—before the full picture is revealed. The journey may feel risky, but God promises to guide those who obey. Don’t let fear keep you stationary when God is inviting you forward.
What step of obedience is God asking me to take, even if the outcome feels uncertain?
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, give me courage to move when You call. Help me trust You enough to obey, even when I don’t see the full path ahead.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Take Action:
- Identify one clear step of obedience God has been prompting you toward.
- Take that step this week, trusting God with the results.
