Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: Luke 2:25–32, Psalm 27:13–14
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
Simeon waited—faithfully, patiently, and expectantly. His peace did not come from knowing when God would act, but from trusting who God is. Waiting exposes the foundation of our faith. Will we remain faithful when prayers seem unanswered and timelines stretch longer than expected? Simeon stayed righteous and devout, anchored in God’s presence rather than outcomes. Waiting is not wasted time; it is often where faith is refined and trust is deepened. God’s promises never fail, even when fulfillment feels delayed.
Where is God asking me to trust Him while I wait?
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: God, help me to trust Your character when I don’t understand Your timing. Strengthen my heart as I wait on You.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Take Action:
- Write down one promise of God that you are holding onto in this season.
- Choose one way to remain faithful while waiting (prayer, service, worship, or Scripture).
