Take 2-3 minutes to quiet yourself and ask God to speak to you today through your devotional time.
Reading: 2 Timothy 1:6–9
Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read.
After reading the passage, take the next 5-10 minutes and spend time reflecting on what you read. You can write these things down in a journal or record them in your phone. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life.
Fear is often the silent thief of purpose. It whispers, “You’re not enough,” or “What if you fail?” But God never calls us to safety—He calls us to trust. Paul reminded Timothy that the Spirit within him was not one of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Faith doesn’t erase fear; it chooses obedience despite it. The servant who buried his talent wasn’t lazy—he was afraid. What dreams or callings have you buried out of fear? It’s time to fan into flame what God has placed within you.
Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer…
- Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you).
- Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: Lord, replace my fear with faith. Help me to act boldly and trust that You are with me every step of the way.
- Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today.
Take Action:
- Write down one fear that has held you back and surrender it to God in prayer.
- Take one small, faith-filled step toward something God has been calling you to do.
