Reading: **James 4:6–10** Be sure to highlight or note anything that stands out to you while you read. Be attentive to both what you highlighted in the passage and what is going on in your life. ** Pride creates distance between us and God, while humility draws us near to Him. James reminds us that humility invites God’s grace into our lives. This echoes Jesus’ teaching: tax collectors and sinners who humbled themselves entered God’s kingdom before the self-righteous. Where might pride be holding you back from fully surrendering to Him? Humility is not weakness; it is strength found in depending on God instead of yourself.** Now, take 10 minutes to seek God in prayer… 1. Begin your time in prayer by taking 1-3 minutes to sit in silence (You can take longer if you sense the Spirit already beginning to speak to you). 2. Pray through the things you sensed God speaking to you through the Scriptures or pray the following prayer: **Father, strip away my pride and teach me to walk humbly with You. Help me submit every part of my life to Your will.** 3. Close by taking 5 minutes to sit in silence, asking God if there is anything else He wants to speak to you today. **Take Action:** 1. Identify one area where you’ve been relying on your own strength instead of God’s, and surrender it to Him in prayer. 2. Choose a small, humble act of service today that puts someone else before yourself.
